Meet Mark:

Mark Whitehead

Mark is a distinguished cybersecurity executive with over two decades of leadership and expertise in safeguarding organizations against sophisticated cyber threats. His passion has always been offensive security. Over 20+ years, he has one of the most unique perspectives based on the evolution of the craft. He has held senior positions at prestigious firms, including the Big 4 (Deloitte, PwC), leading commercial cybersecurity companies (SecureWorks, Trustwave SpiderLabs), and prominent defense contractors (BAE Systems, General Dynamics). Mark's ability to drive results is evident through his strategic contributions to high-growth Series D startups, such as PerimeterX and HUMAN Security, both of which achieved significant milestones and successful exits under his leadership.

A visionary in the field, Mark blends technical excellence with strategic insight. He has led over 10,000 offensive security tests and millions of vulnerability scans, fortifying organizations in an evolving threat environment. His expertise in managing complex security challenges while delivering results makes him a sought-after leader.

Mark holds a Master’s in Applied Information Technology from Towson University (NSA recognized) and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from McDaniel College. He is also certified by Harvard Business School and CISSP, further solidifying his leadership and expertise.

 

Meet John:

John Cartrett is a highly accomplished cybersecurity professional with over 20 years of experience across major commercial offensive cybersecurity companies, including Raytheon Foreground, SecureWorks, and Trustwave SpiderLabs. His expertise spans computer network implementation, security operations, forensics, and both offensive attack and defense testing. His passion has always been offensive security. John always manages to find a way in! 

In recent years, John has specialized in training internal defenders, enhancing their network understanding through active, clandestine offensive engagements. His focus on making expensive Red and Purple team operations accessible to businesses has transformed security practices for many organizations.

A recognized leader in Red Teaming, John has managed numerous global red team engagements, providing subject matter expertise and invaluable guidance across regions. Throughout his career, he has successfully directed nearly 100 full-scope red team operations, refining his craft in clandestine-style Red Teaming over the past decade. His unique combination of technical skill and leadership continues to drive impactful cybersecurity solutions for clients worldwide.

Meet Jack, Board Advisor:

Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson is the CEO and Managing Partner for Jack Johnson and Associates, a strategic consulting firm in McLean, VA. Previously he was a Partner and Sector Leader with Guidehouse Consulting and its legacy firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) U.S. Public Sector. In this capacity, he led the firm’s Defense Sector Practice, and his portfolio of responsibility includes all service components within the U.S. Department of Defense; Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps; the Office of the Secretary of Defense; all Other Defense Organizations and Other Defense Agencies; as well as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, along with Commercial Aerospace and Defense.

Before joining PwC in 2005, Jack was the first Chief Security Officer (CSO) for the newly formed Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this capacity, he was directly involved in establishing DHS after 9/11 and integrating the 22 agencies that now comprise the Department. His previous government service before his appointment at DHS consisted of over 20 years with the United States Secret Service, rising to the position of Deputy Assistant Director.

Jack received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, a Masters in Forensic Science degree from George Washington University and has completed additional post-graduate study at the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins School of Management. He has testified before Congress on homeland security and national security-related issues on multiple occasions and is a frequent speaker at many national and international conferences, seminars, and symposiums. He has also been featured on the CBS Morning Show, 60 Minutes, Forensic Files, and The Today Show.

 

Meet Nolan, Board Advisor:

Nolan Clifford

Nolan Clifford is a GTM and Sales Advisor to Nday. Clifford brings with him over 25 years of dynamic leadership, as the former Founder and CEO of Information Security Solutions, he propelled the company to remarkable growth and a successful acquisition. Clifford also serves as a Strategic Advisor to other prominent global entities, shaping cyber investment strategies and fostering strategic planning.

A graduate of Salisbury University, Nolan's journey includes a stint as a Principal/Partner at Deloitte along with a former active duty and reserve Naval Cryptology / Information Warfare Officer. CISSP, CFCP. His passion for advancing cybersecurity technology and protecting client data fuels his current role as a Sales Executive at a leading identity and access management firm, focusing on federal sector relationships.

Nolan's commitment extends to employee well-being, as the Small Business category winner for the Maryland ESGR Pro Patria Award in 2015, Nolan continues to passionately support the National Guard and Reserve employees.
